Firefighters pulled Roman Soloviov from his Clove Road home just after 7:30 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Alejandro Goez said.
A woman whose name was not released was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.
Preliminary investigation revealed this was non-suspicious, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Montague Fire Marshall, Goez said.
